World Food Day

Inception: It was established at the Food and Agriculture Organization’s 20th General Conference in 1979.
Sponsor: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
Objective: Initially, it was celebrated in honor of the date of the founding of the FAO of the United Nations in 1945. Nowadays, it is celebrated widely by many countries concerned with food security.
