Objectives:
World Wood Day is annually observed around the world for the following purposes:
- to recognize the importance of wood and wood use in our daily life, and
- to promote a harmonious coexistence between people and nature.
Inception:
The inaugural celebration of the World Wood Day took place in 2013 in Tanzania.
The World Wood Day was established by the International Wood Culture Society, a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion, education, and research of wood culture. The event was coordinated by the World Wood Day Foundation.
Each year, the World Wood Day is observed around the world to coincide with the International Day of Forests.

2022 theme: “Trees for Good: Challenges, Opportunities, Sustainability”.
