Purposes:
The World Children’s Day is annually celebrated to spread awareness of the problems children face, improve child welfare worldwide, advocate children’s rights, and promote togetherness amongst all children.
History:
World Children’s Day was first established by the United Nations in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day (A/RES/836(IX)) and is celebrated on 20 November every year.
The UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1989.
